Cate Blanchett is bringing her style A-game to this year’s Venice Film Festival — and it’s all for a good cause!
The 51-year-old star is working with her go-to stylist Elizabeth Stewart to promote fashion sustainability while dazzling in show-stopping numbers.
“IT’S CHIC TO REPEAT! #CateBlanchett has decided to rewear some of her most cherished looks at this year’s Venice Film Festival,” Stewart wrote in an Instagram post showcasing the actress in an Esteban Cortazar gown on Thursday, September 3. “In her words, Beautiful things can come out of sustainability!”
But that’s not all! A few of these pieces will also be donated to the Red Carpet Advocacy (RAD) in partnership with the designers and Stewart’s nonprofit Chic Relief to be auctioned off. The proceeds will go to UN Women and Facing History and Ourselves.
Our favorite festival look so far is the Alexander McQueen number she wore to the Lover premiere on Thursday, September 3. It was first worn as a gown to the 2016 BAFTAs, but Blanchett paired the intricate top with pants for a totally new, cool aesthetic that was equally as stunning.
Not only is the Australian beauty reworking iconic ensembles, but she’s even reworn pieces within the same week. For instance, the Carol star arrived on Tuesday, September 1, in a pair of white wide-leg trousers with a matching tucked-in button-up that she pulled back out on Sunday, September 6 for the Khorshid film premiere. Only instead of a casual slouchy blazer, she upped its appeal for the red carpet with a bronze sequin smoking jacket.
